It's very important to know that a police officer turning on their emergency lights and flashers for a routine traffic stop is not only a violation of the motor vehicle code in every county and state in this nation, but it’s also a felony according to federal law. A routine "traffic" stop does not justify an "emergency." Yet, the police still turn on their emergency lights and flashers for a routine traffic stop because not too many people know it's a violation of the motor vehicle code and a federal felony. Most people don't know that "traffic" pertains to conducting commerce and falls under the jurisdiction of maritime admiralty law. There is a huge difference between traveling and traffic. Traveling falls under the jurisdiction of common law according to the Constitution of the United States of America, while traffic, which involves conducting commerce—meaning being compensated for transporting goods from point A to point B—falls under maritime admiralty law. We, as sovereign American travelers, operate under the jurisdiction of common law according to the Constitution of the United States of America. We do not operate under maritime admiralty law because we are not conducting commerce.
